The California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) last week issued an invitation for bid for blueprint reproduction and online planroom services.

The chosen vendor will be tasked with providing an Internet portal for prospective bidders to view and purchase CDCR project bid package documents. This service should not require purchase or installation of special software.

As part of the agreement, CDCR is requesting a project planroom be established within three days of a bid receipt. The contractor will also be responsible for providing the department with an electronic media copy of all related documents at the close of each project.

Blueprint reproduction includes a series of tasks, including scan to file .pdf, .tif, .dwg or .dxf; small and large format bonds; copy of plans on CD-recordable disks; jumbo tape conversion to CD/DVD format; and other related tasks.

Services are scheduled to commence on June 1, 2017, and end June 30, 2019. The IFB was opened to prospective bidders on Feb. 16. Letters of inquiry and bid submissions are due March 3 and 23 respectively. Public bid opening will take place March 23 as well.
