The California Department of Social Services announced Wednesday that the bid for its new Appeals Case Management System (ACMS) will be awarded to Visionary Integration Professionals (VIP LLC)

Under the more than $10 million contract, VIP will support the creation of a "single case management database to combine intake, scheduling and reporting functionalities into a single workflow.”

The work will consolidate the existing four-decade-old mainframe database housed at the Office of Technology Services, and more than 20 ad-hoc applications. ACMS will be a public-facing system and replace the current State Hearings System built in the 1970s.

A representative from the Department of Technology, Statewide Technology Procurement Division said seven vendors bid on the RFP, which was initially issued in December 2015. The contract term will be four years, the final two years of which will include maintenance and operation activities. Today is the last day to protest this award.

VIP is based in Reston, Va., with a West Coast office in Folsom, Calif. The company offers a suite of IT solutions, including management consulting, organizational development and commercial-off-the-shelf business solutions. Partner companies of VIP include Accela, Amazon Web Services and Cisco.
