California Looks to Fill Top Tech Positions

Amy Tong was recently appointed as the state of California CIO and Department of Technology director, but a spate of top-level technology positions remain open in the ranks of state government.

Here's a roundup of jobs that California is in the process of filling:

1. The Office of Systems Integration is inviting applicants for Tong's previous position as the office's chief deputy director. The final filing date is July 18.

2. The Department of Technology is advertising the state chief information security officer (CISO) position, which leads the California Office of Information Security. The candidate will replace Michele Robinson, who left the job in March.

3. The Labor and Workforce Development Agency posted on July 7 its agency information officer position, which Carlos Quant will leave at the end of October.

4. The Department of Child Support Services is searching for a CIO.

5. The Department of Conservation is advertising its CIO position after Terese Matchim voluntarily left the job. The final filing date is Friday, July 15.

6. CalPERS also is hiring a chief information security officer, and the DMV is recruiting for a deputy director who manages the Enterprise Applications Branch in the Information Systems Division.
