Child Welfare Services - New System (CWS-NS) project director Les Fujitani is retiring from state government at the end of August, he confirmed to Techwire.

Fujitani has been the project director of CWS-NS for the past eight years, and he is the co-founder of his own consulting firm specializing in IT employment services. Fujitani has worked in a variety of roles in the IT industry for more than 20 years.

The Office of Systems Integration is accepting applicants to fill the CWS-NS project director position. The final filing date is June 30.

Duties of the the CWS-NS project include directing activities to procure and recruit design, development, implementation, and DevOps services for the CWS-NS.

The $420 million CWS-NS is the largest IT project in California state government using agile principles for its procurement and development.
