July 2016 IT Procurement Update

A quick snapshot of active bid opportunities Techwire is following this month at the Franchise Tax Board, Department of FI$Cal and several other state agencies and departments.

1. The Franchise Tax Board on July 15 released an Invitation for Bid soliciting for secure offsite storage and retrieval services. The bid includes provisions for daily container transportation and storage to and from the FTB central office and shipping services for Technology Recovery to FTB's warm site locations. The last day to submit bids is July 29.

2. The California Department of Fire and Forestry Protection on June 1 released an RFQ for fleet management software. Responses are due July 15. The department wants a solution with no customization needed.

3. The Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation is procuring IT consulting services to maintain the Personnel Data and Position Management System (PDPMS) for its human resources section. RFQ responses are due July 15.

4. The new Department of FI$Cal is reviewing its active IT consulting contracts. An RFI released on July 11 seeks information on Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) advisory services, Independent Verification and Validation (IV&V), and project management support services. RFI responses are due July 30.

5. An RFQ from the Department of Motor Vehicles will purchase Blaze Advisor Maintenance Standard Support. The services will be provided by a manufacturer and not a third-party service provider. Bidders must be an authorized reseller. RFQ submissions are due July 19.

6. An RFQ from the Department of Water Resources seeks a contractor to provide new Autodesk subscriptions, subscription renewal and advanced support services. These support services shall be provided by an authorized Autodesk reseller. Quotes are due July 21.

7. Metropolitan State Hospitals is hiring a contractor to provide WinScribe licenses. RFQ responses are due July 22.

8. The California Science Center is soliciting bids to procure PRI (Primary Rate Interface)/SIP (Session Initiation Protocol) phone service. Finals bids are due July 25.
