Prison Industry Authority Awards Recovery Services Contract

A contractor will develop and provide a risk management plan, risk analysis, testing and exercises, monthly status reports, and a plan for selecting a third-party technical recovery provider, among other tasks at the California Prison Industry Authority's office in Folsom.

The California Prison Industry Authority (CALPIA) this month awarded a contract for technology recovery services to Quest Technology Management. The bid was open to suppliers qualified through the California Multiple Award Schedule (CMAS).

The contractor will provide a risk management plan, risk analysis, testing and exercises, monthly status reports, and a plan for selecting a third-party technical recovery provider, among other tasks.

CALPIA was established 33 years ago by law to provide work opportunities for offenders in the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation system. About 7,000 prisoners have work assignments manufacturing goods and services such as food and clothing, license plates office furniture and more. CDCR accounts for about 60 percent of sales through CALPIA.

The contractor will provide a risk management plan, risk analysis, testing and exercises, monthly status reports, and a plan for selecting a third-party technical recovery provider, among many other tasks.

The work will be done in Folsom, Calif., through a deliverables-based contract. The winning offer was about $185,000.
