RFO: Department of General Services FI$Cal Interface Modification

DGS is modifying its Human Resources and Project Accounting and Leave (PAL) applications that will interface with the Financial Information System for California (FI$Cal).

The Department of General Services is inviting contractors that hold a current IT Master Services Agreement with the department to submit RFOs for providing Oracle Systems experts to assist in modifications of the department's system interfaces.

Specifically, DGS is modifying its Human Resources (HR) and Project Accounting and Leave (PAL) applications that will interface with the Financial Information System for California (FI$Cal).

"During the FI$Cal analysis, design and configuration activities, the DGS discovered that the manner in which they capture and bill time in the PAL system was unique. Specifically, the DGS captures time and posts it daily to projects so that the resulting rows are billable to other agencies. Whereas, the current design for FI$Cal was focused on processing time monthly versus daily flowing through the custom Labor Distribution process that was developed during Wave 1. As a result, DGS decided to modify PAL to be able to capture employee activity-time reporting and interface it to PeopleSoft, Project Costing on a daily basis and will summarize it monthly to create a Monthly Activity Sheet for Labor Distribution, with a target go live of July 2016," the RFO says.

Offers must be submitted via email to Jason.casillas@dgs.ca.gov with the subject line, “RFO #3188116 – DGS HR/PAL FI$Cal Interface Completion, Stabilization and Patching” no later than 5 p.m. on April 4, 2016.
