The California Department of Social Services is seeking a third party to administer workers' compensation claims and provide managed care and cost containment services beginning in 2017.

Released on Wednesday, the proposal contains several technology components. The proposer must have an operating system capable of data transfer and uninterrupted transition of the state’s claims data in the current Third Party Administration System. The contractor must encrypt the department's confidential data using non-proprietary software meeting NIST standards.

The workers’ compensation claims administration services include injured claimants of the following programs: IHSS/Personal Care Services Program; CalWORKs and CalFRESH.

Final bids are due Aug. 26.
