The California State Teachers' Retirement System (CalSTRS) released an RFP to solicit proposals from qualified firms to provide Maintenance and Operations (M&O) services for its SAP Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system. Known internally as BusinessDirect, CalSTRS relies primarily on the SAP Enterprise Core Component (ECC), which incorporates functionality for maintaining CalSTRS' financial and management needs. CalSTRS also uses SAP’s Business Intelligence (BI) Module and SAP’s Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) Module for procurement functionality, the organization says.
The first phase of implementation began in January 2013, and then moved into an M&O phase. CalSTRS currently has an M&O contract expiring Sept. 30, 2016 and intends to engage a provider and begin working in the fall 2016 time period. CalSTRS would like to explore options in advance of the contract expiration, and field a solicitation for services.
