Tax Board Seeking Technology Recovery Warm Site

Franchise Tax Board say its has one data center with two raised floors at its main office in Sacramento, containing IBM mainframes; nearly 2,000 servers, and more than 100 switches.

The Franchise Tax Board is seeking a provider of an out-of-state technology recovery warm site facility.

The warm site facility would enable the tax board to "transfer critical processing functions during an outage emergency or planned event," according to a newly released bid.

Draft bids are due Sept. 12; final bids are due Sept. 23. Key action dates are subject to change.

"The bidder will provide for FTB, Technology Recovery (TR) services and remote access facilities with an alternate or backup processing site, that has equipment with some preconfigured hardware, networks, communications interfaces, electrical and environmental conditioned readily available to start operations. This TR facility must have the latest technological advances in design, computer hardware, including data storage subsystems and telecommunications capability, software, and on-site technical specialist to assist with issues that may arise with the configurations on file," the bid document released Aug. 26 says.
