Many local governments are on recess for part of March and April, but some are still active. Here are IT contracts Techwire is watching.

1. The Sacramento City Council is scheduled Tuesday to consider approval of a contract that would renew and expand the police department's Automated License Plate Reader (ALPR) program. Sacramento is proposing a $796,00 deal with the city's current ALPR provider Vigilant Solutions that would install a total of 70 fixed "observation" pods across the city. "Recently, private businesses and neighborhood associations have approached the SPD to request the deployment of PODs in their neighborhoods in an effort to detect and deter criminal activity," a city staff memo says.

2. San Bernardino County approved a contract with Netsmart Technologies Inc. for no more than $11.2 million from April 4, 2017, to June 30, 2022. The contract will allow Netsmart to develop and support the Department of Behavioral Health's new Management Information System.

3. Orange County’s Board of Supervisor’s will decide on a motion to enter contracts with Tevora Business Solutions Inc. to run baseline security assessments before June 30, 2018. The motion could approve funds up to $200,000 a year and also require the CIO to provide a biannual state of the county cybersecurity report.

4. San Mateo County will vote on a motion today to spend almost $26 million on a 12-month contract extension with the current companies that proved information technology services to the county.

5. Alameda County extended its Interactive Voice Response-Computer Telephony Integration system with Streamwrite LLC by three years and $725,000 on March 28.
