Amazon Web Services, the cloud computing offering from the online retail giant, recently announced it has signed a Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) security addendum with the California Department of Justice.

“This signed addendum enables local law enforcement agencies in California to run CJIS workloads in the cloud with assurance that they are compliant with CJIS standards, the company wrote on its blog.

CJIS is a set of security standards for law enforcement developed by the FBI. California DOJ’s JusticeCloud utilizes Amazon Web Services, according to the company.

In March 2015, Microsoft announced its Azure cloud is CJIS-compliant in California.
