OpenGov, Workiva Partner to Enhance Public-Sector Financial Reporting

Under the partnership, OpenGov Budget Builder and OpenGov Intelligence will be paired with Workiva’s Wdesk platform, a solution used by state and local governments to link data into a centralized repository.

OpenGov has announced a new partnership with cloud provider Workiva, according to an announcement released Tuesday.

Under the partnership, OpenGov Budget Builder and OpenGov Intelligence will be paired with Workiva’s Wdesk platform, a solution used by state and local governments to link data into a centralized repository. The joint offering will help customers create Comprehensive Annual Financial reports, quarterly management reports and other related documents, as well as publish budget books more efficiently.

“With the addition of Wdesk to the OpenGov Smart Government Platform, we are jointly offering a complete solution for analyzing and communicating complex public-sector financial information to government employees, elected officials and the public. We are excited to immediately offer Wdesk to more than 1,400 OpenGov customers," OpenGov co-founder and CEO Zac Bookman said in the announcement. "Our partnership further enables data-driven decision-making and improves transparency for the public.”

Based in Redwood City, Calif., OpenGov provides cloud-based solutions for open data. The company gleaned attention from local entities last November, when data-publishing company Socrata announced it would be focusing on larger governments. Since the announcement, OpenGov has stepped in to help local governments.

The company was also a part of Government Technology's* GovTech 100, an annual list of organizations that sell to state and local government in market segments like civic tech, service delivery and administration.

*Government Technology is owned by Techwire's parent company, e.Republic.
