2015 Year in Review No. 6: CGI Awarded $121 Million CalSTRS Pension Administration System Contract

In February, CGI Technologies and Solutions Inc. won a competitive procurement to configure and implement a new pension benefits administration system for the California State Teachers’ Retirement System (CalSTRS).

Story No. 6: In February, CGI Technologies and Solutions Inc. won a competitive procurement to configure and implement a new pension benefits administration system for the California State Teachers’ Retirement System (CalSTRS). CGI is the system integrator on the $121 million contract, and Sagitec will provide the system’s software and technology platform. According to CGI, the solution will be built upon Sagitec’s commercial-off-the-shelf pension administration product, called Neospin. CalSTRS expects the new system to be in place by 2020, after a multi-year implementation. The pension system replacement is the largest IT project CalSTRS has undertaken in its history. The new solution will have workflow functionality, integrated web applications and user-friendly tools for analytical reporting.
