Cal-OES Scanning for Satellite Services Vendor

The California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services is seeking proposals for support services of the Operational Area Satellite Information System.

The California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services is seeking proposals for support services of the Operational Area Satellite Information System.

The RFP, released Aug. 16, will lead to a two-year contract with two optional single-year extensions.

The current system is maintained in-house and covers about 85 fixed and mobile sites throughout the state, providing services 24/7. It could be expanded through incremental bandwidth purchases and additional sites if needed.

The OASIS system has been in place since the early 1990s to provide Mutual Aid Request access to county emergency operations centers when other communication networks fail. The mobile satellites provide access to incident command posts in remote locations.

Proposals are due Oct. 10, according to the Invitation for Bid.
