The California Information Technology Annual Report 2016 has been posted to CDT's website. The document summarizes the department's goals and achievements, metrics and statistics, and program objectives and philosophy within key areas such as cybersecurity, innovation, IT project management and delivery, and procurement. It's worth a read.

The state's IT department is taking a new approach to how it explains and showcases the department's work on a year-to-year basis.

The report is a good primer for anyone who wants or needs overview of the many projects and programs the department is involved in. And as someone who has a good grasp of what CDT does, I still learned things by reading the report.

The presentation of key metrics is attention-grabbing. I think two infographics in particular are interesting, among others.

This is a good illustration of why the California Department of Technology is redoubling its efforts of cybersecurity preparedness and response.

The report is worth a read.
