Amy Tong, current chief technology officer for the State Board of Equalization, has been named the new ITSD deputy director for the California State Lottery, a spokesperson confirmed Wednesday via email.
“The Lottery is excited to have Amy Tong join our team. We feel her experience and skill will be invaluable to our IT department,” said Alex Traverso, assistant deputy director for the Lottery.
Tong will join the Lottery on Dec. 24, according to Traverso. Tong replaces former Chief Information Officer Ellen Ishimoto, who left her position earlier this year.
Tong brings to the job more than 19 years of experience in business, technology and management. Previously, she served as the assistant division chief of technology and support division as well as chief of the data center at CalPERS. Prior to that, she held several positions of increasing responsibility related to technology at the water resources control board.
