CHP Has 6 RFPs for Video, Phone, Radio Projects

The California Highway Patrol has six open RFPs regarding security surveillance cameras and closed-circuit television.

The California Highway Patrol has six open RFPs regarding security surveillance cameras and closed-circuit television. They are listed below:

  • Otay Mesa Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Facility (CVEF) — Security Cameras and CCTV Replacement
  • Calexico CVEF — Security Camera and CCTV Replacement
  • San Onofre CVEF North and Southbound — Security Camera Installation
  • Sidewinder Platform Scales — Security Camera Installation
  • Black Rock Scales — Security Camera Installation
  • Peralta Platform Scale East and Westbound — Security Camera Replacement
For each of these projects, the vendor is required to either install or replace security surveillance cameras in the respective locations. Other required services include, but are not limited to, furnishing all supplies, materials, tools, equipment, labor, personnel and supervision; and paying all costs, both direct and indirect.

In all locations, the cameras are to be vandal-resistant and ingress protection rated for protection against dust and water intrusion. They must be pan-tilt-zoom outdoor day/night IP video cameras with heaters and blowers, or the equivalent, and be high-resolution, with a 2-megapixel minimum.

There is no maximum contract amount for these projects yet, but estimates are expected in mid-August, according to the contract analyst.

Additionally, the CHP has three open bids regarding maintenance and repairs of the cabling and Toshiba telecommunication system for the Central, Inland and Golden Gate divisions.

The contractors will be expected to repair and maintain the telecommunications system including data telephone cabling, cross connects and testing. They will also be expected to repair and maintain the ancillary telephone equipment, i.e., paging and voicemail systems and telephone sets.

The contractor must furnish all supplies, Toshiba parts, materials, tools and personnel, and pay all direct and indirect costs for the cabling and Toshiba telephone system repair and maintenance.

The CHP is prepared to spend up to $45,000 for these projects, with the maximum contract amount for each division being $15,000.
