In the second installation of a multi-part interview, state Deputy CIO Chris Cruz discusses with e.Republic’s Steve Towns the challenges and pitfalls of standardizing tech in a state as diverse as California.
In this portion of the conversation, Cruz says the Department of Technology believes that applications should generally be managed at the department level, so each has the flexibility it needs while maintaining security and interconnectivity.
The first segment of Towns’ interview with Cruz was published Friday in Techwire. The conversation took place at last week’s California Technology Forum in Sacramento, sponsored by Government Technology and Techwire, both publications of e.Republic.
After the Cruz interview, Techwire will over the next few weeks publish video interviews with numerous other conference attendees.
