CWDS Gains Chief of Development

Child Welfare Digital Services announced Thursday that Steve Trimble has been hired as chief of development on the CWS-New System project.

Child Welfare Digital Services (CWDS) announced Thursday that Steve Trimble has been hired as chief of development on the CWS-New System (CWS-NS) project.

Trimble is joining the Office of Systems Integration (OSI) as a senior member of the project team, according to the announcement made through the organization’s blog, and will “directly oversee state and contractor staff who are working in a variety of technical environments, Web-based applications, technology platforms, data architecture and associated cloud infrastructure.”

With the CWS-NS project, CWDS is developing a new platform and set of digital services that will provide a better user experience (UX) and capabilities not provided by the CWS/CMS, LIS and FAS legacy systems currently in use. The CWS-NS project will be made available incrementally, and users will be trained over the course of the next several years.

Trimble has more than 27 years of development and leadership experience, including 15 years as a senior development manager for AT&T, according to the announcement. He is also a nationally recognized leader in agile/Scrum/Kanban development environments and has extensive experience implementing agile in large-scale operations. Trimble also holds Certified Scrum Master (CSM) and a Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) certifications.
