California's Department of Business Oversight has a new deputy commissioner for policy. Lila Mirrashidi was appointed by Gov. Jerry Brown to the position in late January.

Mirrashidi will be responsible with Commissioner Jan Owen for creating policies to support the department's mission and overseeing the Property Assessed Clean Energy program (PACE) implementation. That implementation could include IT upgrades, new regulations and some legislative changes for examination and enforcement procedures.

Mirrashidi comes from the position of deputy commissioner of the Legal Division. She moved there from the deputy commissioner of business regulations at the Department of Corporations in 2013. She has a juris doctorate from Hastings College of Law.
