The California Department of Technology on Friday released an Invitation for Bid for on-premise Backup Secondary Storage Services (BS3).
The offerings procured through the bid will be added to the department's portfolio of Vendor Hosted Subscription Services (VHSS). In the VHSS model, customers pay a prenegotiated rate and pay as they go. The Department of Technology acts as a service broker.
In July, the department divided the Backup Secondary Storage Services solicitation into two: off-premise and on-premise.
An optional bidder's conference is scheduled on Sept. 14. Final bids are due Oct. 28. Key action dates are subject to change.
