Google’s barge to move to Stockton

Google has moved its mysterious, four-story barge out of a San Francisco Bay island to a new home at the Port of Stockton, according to The Associated Press.

The barge left Treasure Island on Thursday to comply with a Jan. 31 regulatory order. The San Francisco Bay Conservation and Development Commission had ruled the company didn’t have the proper permits to continue construction.

The Port of Stockton is about 80 miles east of San Francisco and lies outside the jurisdiction of the commission.

Google told The AP that the barge will serve as an "interactive technology center," once completed.
