Governor appoints Rebecca Stilling CalTech Deputy Director for IT Project Oversight and Consulting

Gov. Jerry Brown has appointed Rebecca Stilling, 59, of Sacramento, as the new deputy director of the California Department of Technology’s Information Technology Project Oversight and Consulting Division.

The IT Project Oversight and Consulting Division has approval and oversight authority for state IT projects and can act as a consultant during project proposal and planning phases.

Stilling will be replacing the former deputy director Kari Gutierrez, who retired from state government last December to join the Sacramento IT management consulting firm Cambria Solutions.

Prior to her appointment to the IT Project Oversight and Consulting Division, Stilling worked as the CIO and deputy director of the Technology Services Division at the California Department of Child Support Services since 2010, and in the same division as the policy branch chief from 2009 to 2010.

From 2008 to 2009, Stilling was the general manager of operations at Delegata. She was also the executive director of Nelnet Guarantor Solutions LLC from 2005 to 2007 and held multiple positions at EDFund from 2997 to 2005.

Stilling earned a Master of Arts degree in educational administration from California State University, Fullerton. Her salary will be $128,988.
