Several local governments are seeking software contracts. Others are looking into localized customer service projects.

The city of Sacramento voted Tuesday to award a contract to Active Network LLC for $43,100. The money would be spent to purchase and implement an Active Net Registration Management Software system. The software contract would extend for five years and replace the Class Software System that currently manages park facility reservations in the city. New hardware could cost $14,000 in a separate purchase.

On Tuesday, Long Beach City Council staff voted that the city manager would work with the Police Department and Technology and Innovation Department to find out if a voluntary online bicycle registration program is feasible. The program would be app-based and would pair with an education campaign.

The city of Los Angeles was to vote today on 4G Mobile Hotspots. The vote would approve the acceptance of a World Wide Technology Inc. donation that would pay for the purchase of hardware and the service behind 100 Wi-Fi hotspots. World Wide’s donation of $3,152.77 would provide the hotspots to people who have received refurbished computers from the OurCycle LA program.

The city of San Jose voted Tuesday on an amendment to a Intelliswift Software Inc. contract. The contract provides project management services to implement an Integrated Permitting System upgrade. The amendment would extend the contract by 19 months, until Feb. 28, 2019, and increase the cost another $360,000 but could not exceed $630,000.
