Local governments in California are looking for more agile ways to handle the procurement process. Techwire is tracking these four contracts this week.

1. Sacramento County’s Board of Supervisors will vote Tuesday on a cooperative purchase agreement with Motorola Solutions Inc. The agreement will include purchases of APX 6000 Model 2.5 portable radios up to $354,940.

2. Sacramento City Council will vote on Tuesday to suspend competitive bidding for the purchase of closed circuit television pipeline inspection equipment. The initial term of the contract awarded after bidding suspension would last until June 30, 2020, but could be extended by one-year intervals twice. The contract will cost no more than $900,000 even with extensions.

3. Los Angeles City Council will vote Tuesday to accept or decline an amendment to a contract with SITA Information Networking Computing USA Inc. The contract amendment would begin the maintenance and support of Los Angeles International Airport’s automated passport kiosks.

4. The City Council of Los Angeles will also vote on an ordinance that allows an agile procurement and contracting process for the Landside Access Modernization Program (LAMP) at Los Angeles International Airport. LAMP will include an automated people mover and other traffic congestion interventions. All procurement processes would still run through the Los Angeles Business Assistance Virtual Network website.
