The West Sacramento City Council is considering the budget for fiscal years 2017-18 and 2018-19, which, if approved, will allocate nearly $800,000 to three “smart city” projects. The first of these would include installation of fiber-optic cable, cameras and a traffic management center. The second project would provide for transit and transportation planning, allowing for closer examination of alternative modes of transportation. Another would provide funding for traffic video detection at key intersections, improving traffic flow, incident detection and response time.

Ventura County approved and authorized a master agreement with Sirsi Corp. in the amount of $57,536 for five years. The agreement is for software products and maintenance in Ventura County libraries.

Santa Clara County has partnered with Cognizant TriZetto Software Group Inc. to provide software licenses and expand their original Ethernet connection between Valley Health Plan and TriZetto hosting services. The City Council approved a $300,000 increase of the maximum contract amount, with the new maximum being $33,887,122.

Santa Clara County approved an agreement with IBM relating to business continuity and recovery services by providing a disaster recovery warm site for the IBM mainframe. They increased the maximum contract amount by $224,958, with the final sum being $1,776,378, and approved an extension of the agreement for an additional year, through June 30, 2020.

The Sacramento County Board of Supervisors authorized the director of airports to execute an agreement with Brüel and Kjær EMS Inc. for operation and maintenance of the management system for airport noise and operations, and also a Web-accessible flight tracking system. This agreement expires at the end of June, but the department has the option to extend it for two more years.

Sacramento County authorized an agreement with IBM for $187,843 for COPLINK system support for the period of July 1, 2017, through June 30, 2019. COPLINK is a law enforcement information sharing system that consolidates data from multiple sources. This can generate tactical leads and can help law enforcement officers discover investigative case leads.
