Tech Industry Raises $115K for Local Children's Charities

Executives from technology companies and state government golfed for charity on Friday, raising $115,000 for five Sacramento-area children’s charities. Deloitte Consulting hosted the annual tournament.

Representatives from more than 30 companies, including Accenture, Adobe, Agreeya, CGI, EMC, Informatica, SAS, Secure-24 and Oracle, attended the Deloitte Fall Classic 2014, which takes place annually at the Haggin Oaks Golf Complex.

Over the 14 years that Deloitte has held the tournament, $965,00 in total has been donated to Sacramento children’s charities, according to event organizers.

Helping to break a new record above last year’s $100,000, the tournament included a silent auction, raffle and live auction of items donated from local businesses, event sponsors and Deloitte leadership.

The beneficiaries this year were Sacramento Court Appointed Special Advocates, ChildrenNow, Positive Coaching Alliance, Latino Sports Outreach and Sacramento Children’s Home.

Jason Salzetti (pictured above second from the right), the lead client service partner for Deloitte’s state of California account, led the tournament with opening remarks and sponsor recognition, and presented the checks for charity.
