Office of Systems Integration Seeks Identity Management Information

A state office is planning to publish an RFI next week for Identity and Access Management solutions. The information will offer insights into potential problems with an identity management system and its implementation.

The Office of Systems Integration (OSI) plans to release a Request for Information about Identity and Access Management solutions on Jan. 2.

The information is due on Jan. 15 and should include data about a solution already used in the market. The solution should also be scalable so the OSI can use it across all offices.

The information will offer insights into potential problems with an identity management system and its implementation. The project scope would include both internal and external users.

Bill Maile, spokesman for OSI, wrote to Techwire about some challenges that the office has already recognized. They are:

  •         Providing for Authentication and Authorization functions as required by specific and separate lines of business
  •         Supporting Single Sign-On
  •         Efficiently provisioning and de-provisioning users and services
  •         Detecting compromised identities
  •         Monitoring and auditing access to protected resources
  •         Facilitating interoperability between disparate IdAM implementations throughout the agency
Questions will be answered by Jan. 8.
