OSI's Hearing Appeals Project Appoints New Director

The ACMS was set up to assist in the creation of a hearings appeal management system for the Department of Social Services State Hearings Division.

The Appeals Case Management System (ACMS) project, managed by the Office of Systems Integration, has a new project director.

The ACMS was set up to assist in the creation of a hearings appeal management system for the Department of Social Services State Hearings Division.

The new project director, Tammie Lopez, was assistant project director for the Women, Infants and Children (WIC) Management Information Systems project for two years. That project worked to make WIC food benefits part of the Electronic Benefit Transfer, which was a federal mandate.

Lopez has more than 19 years of experience working on large public-sector IT projects, from the State Controller's Office to the Department of Health Care Services. She has also worked for the Department of Technology on the Fi$Cal project.

The state is looking to scale the case management system as the business solution for other agencies that handle appeals cases. The system will integrate intake, scheduling and reporting functions, and will also include a public-facing portal.
