The city of Palo Alto is seeking Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software for its Finance and Human Resources management systems.

The new system will be responsible for the city’s $546 million revenue and 1,000 staff members. As a full-service city, Palo Alto maintains city administration, planning, public works and safety services.

“…The City continues to streamline and optimize operations and is more reliant on data for decision-making. Therefore, the City now intends to replace its existing ERP system with a best fit solution to better meet its needs,” the posting reads.

The city posted an RFP for the software on Friday, with questions due by Sept. 15. The new ERP will replace the city’s SAP system, implemented in 2003.

Almost 40 vendors have expressed interest in the contract already.

An RFP for a customer information and utility billing solution will be released at a later date.
