Caltrans is looking for information on Web-based solutions that could replace its current Adopt-A-Highway permit management system and other similar systems.

The four other systems under consideration for replacement within the Caltrans Divisions of Maintenance and Traffic Operations include encroachment permit management, outdoor advertising licensing and permit management, material inventory management, and highway level of service evaluation.

These modules have been on the drawing board at Caltrans for several years, according to a Techwire source.

Caltrans says it's seeking ideas and information for an integrated solution to replace these five unintegrated systems, and envisions a systems that will require minimal customizations, if either a Commercial Off the Shelf (COTS) or Modified Off the Shelf (MOTS) solution is selected.

Here are the key action dates, according to an RFI addendum sent out on Wednesday:
