Roseville Prepares to Replace Main ERP System

Roseville's current ERP system is more than 20 years old. Roseville's CIO, Hong Sae, said the project is in motion and on schedule, and the city hosted a bidders conference last month. Proposals from ERP vendors are due Friday.

The city of Roseville will soon embark on a three-year project to replace its citywide ERP system, which is more than 20 years old.

A competitive procurement process is underway to select the new solution, which will replace the city's current system, SunGard Public Sector’s Integrated Financial and Administrative Solution (IFAS).

Roseville's CIO, Hong Sae, said the project is in motion and on schedule, and the city hosted a bidders conference last month. Proposals from ERP vendors are due Friday.

The city plans to implement the financial solution in 2017, budgeting in 2018, and HR and payroll in 2019.

Concurrently, last week Roseville began to recruit to fill the position of ERP project manager, who will report to the city's chief financial officer and be responsible for all day-to-day tasks and activities of the project and managing the ERP Team.

The project will also replace several ancillary systems used by city departments, products such as ZoomGrants, Workforce Software, VSS Pro and When to Work.

Roseville plans to host discovery sessions and software demonstrations as part of the procurement.

An analysis from the Government Finance Officers Association recommended that Roseville undertake the ERP replacement.

Roseville's IT department also is moving into new office space this year in a new building co-located with Sierra College, retail and restaurants, and other tenants.
