The State Treasurer’s Office announced Wednesday the launch of its redesigned website, which focuses on connecting users with the financing options and programs available through the office. Visit the new website at treasurer.ca.gov.

The new theme is “Open for Business, Open for You,” according to a press release from State Treasurer John Chiang. The new site “focuses users on how the Treasurer’s Office can help small business entrepreneurs, health organizations, educators, affordable housing builders and green infrastructure innovators acquire the affordable capital necessary to realize their goals.”

“We are in the business of community building, incubating economic growth and growing jobs. Toward this mission, I am building a customer-centric website that will connect Californians with the powerful financing tools offered by my office and, in short order, those offered by the thousands of public agencies throughout the Golden State,” Chiang said in the release. “My ultimate goal is to make California government more transparent, accountable and responsive to the needs of the public through technological innovation.”

Other new features include a streamlined home page; numerous new resources, including reports, videos and contact information; multimedia content such as infographics and fact sheets; and social news feeds with the latest news from the State Treasurer’s Office.

Visitors to the site will also be able to access the Treasurer’s open-data website DebtWatch (http://debtwatch.treasurer.ca.gov/), which allows the public to track and monitor state and local debt.
