SymSoft Solutions builds accessible, interoperable websites based on user experience for government entities. Spokesman Matt Murphy described the California State Treasurer’s Office California Business Incentives Gateway (CBIG) as an example of what went right in government public enterprise relationships.

The system tracks browsing behavior and makes recommendations based on those behaviors as well as location, time and other preferences.

Launched at the end of 2016, the site offers “economic development incentives to the business community using the kind of ‘data driven personalization’ used by Amazon and other commercial websites,” Murphy wrote in an email to Techwire.

“SymSoft collaborated with CA business groups, counties, cities, and state government agencies to define requirements and opportunities for the CBIG project,” Murphy wrote.

The site allows cities, counties and state agencies to update their incentives.

“The website is compliant with ADA Section 508/WCAG AA guidelines, uses responsive Web design to support access from mobile devices and is deployed on the Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud,” the email also stated.

The League of California Cities wrote in a statement: "The goal is that in the future, the CBIG will serve as the universal application to offer all incentives from the state of California and its 4,000 local governments. The rollout of CBIG marks another step toward improving government accessibility and harnessing the power of technology to catalyze economic activity."
