John Stone, formerly a vice president of Apple Inc., was named chief operating officer for Fantag in February. In 1999, Stone helped secure $25 million in funding to begin his first venture, Folsom, Calif.-based PowerSchool, which was later sold to Apple.

Stone has worked in up-and-coming technology around Northern California since 1996. Now he will apply his Harvard MBA toward growing the new mobile video tech company Fantag.

The platform syncs professional cameras with fan content and disperses it through a mobile app. This way fans can replay a play and share it on social media.

CBS Interactive, StubHub, Moneta Ventures and the Sacramento Kings are all funders and advisers of Fantag.

The company launched in Sacramento earlier this year and Stone will help it move from beta to its live version.

Stone has worked with the Kings before. He assisted the team with its viewer experience model while moving into the new Golden 1 Center sports and entertainment complex.

He has also served on the board of the Positive Coaching Alliance.
