Sacramento IT Consultancy Adds New Member

Mike Smith has brought his 25 years of sales experience to the Sacramento Association of Consultants.

Mike Smith has brought his private business sales experience to the Sacramento Association of Consultants.

The tech consulting association was formed in fall 2015 and now has five principal members, four of whom are former California state government executives.

Smith has 25 years of private-sector business experience, selling technology solutions to government and education customers.

Smith's position in the association will be to assist businesses with securing government contracts and developing strategic plans, according to his biography. He will rely on his previous experience of balancing government compliance with building business strategy, as seen with his work on the FCC’s E-rate program.

Smith’s previous cloud solution projects serve state entities such as the Department of Motor Vehicles and Child Support Services. He has also worked with Orange County and UCLA to provide contact center solutions.

At the IT consultancy, Smith joins Paul Benedetto, former undersecretary of the California Technology Agency; Joe Panora, former CIO of California’s Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation; Ron Hughes, former chief deputy state CIO; and Jeff Uyeda, former CEO of FI$Cal.

The association matches client needs to any number of the five members' expertise.
