Michael Martinez is now listed as the CIO of the California State Library's Information Technology Bureau, according to the library's website.

The eight-person bureau supports 100 staff members across the state library.

The State Library didn't immediately return Techwire's request for information on Wednesday.

The library's former CIO, David Wanjiru, was replaced from the Career Executive Assignment (CEA) position in late April.

Wanjiru joined the State Library in November 2015, coming from the California Highway Patrol, where he managed the implementation of CHP’s computer-aided dispatch system, large-scale infrastructure projects, and database and network support. He returned this month to a managerial position at CHP.

Techwire profiled Wanjiru in this March 2016 story.
