Rebecca Friedman

Rebecca Friedman is the Founder and President of Koru Strategies, a public sector business development advisory firm. She previously worked as the Media Services Director for the Los Angeles County Internal Services Department. She is passionate about improving the business of government IT.



Prompted by a data breach, the county has reorganized its Internal Services Division. The Computing Services Branch will now focus exclusively on cybersecurity and will be led by Jac Fagundo, a 30-year veteran of the county division.
Technologists teamed up to present proposals and proofs of concept to a team of judges, who "invested" in some of the teams' ideas. The idea was to spur creativity among the county IT team and to emphasize agile methodology in IT innovation.

Last week's event was held at the county's former data center — the same site where the Apollo Command Module was designed.
