Dozens of Cloud Solution Providers Awarded Multi-State Procurement Master Agreements

The California Department of General Services said it will review cloud-as-a-service master agreements offered through the National Association of State Procurement Officials (NASPO) cooperative purchasing program so that state agencies and departments could potentially buy from them starting in mid-2017.

The National Association of State Procurement Officials (NASPO) announced Tuesday it has competitively awarded multi-state cooperative procurement master agreements to 38 cloud service providers.

The long-awaited awards were organized by the state of Utah and utilize the Cloud Security Alliance's Consensus Assessments Initiative Questionnaire (CAIQ), Cloud Controls Matrix (CCM), and the Security Trust and Assurance Registry.

State and local governments, California included, may begin using these master awards when participating addendums are signed between the state and a cloud solutions provider.

The California Department of General Services said it will review these NASPO cloud-as-a-service master agreements. DGS plans to develop the participation addendums by mid-2017 so that California agencies and departments could potentially be able to buy off the NASPO contracts, in alignment with the California Department of Technology’s existing “cloud first” policy.

More information — about the participating adendums, award documents, the request for proposal, service summaries, contracts, key contacts — is posted on the NASPO ValuePoint website.

Here’s the list of the 38 cloud service providers now offered through NASPO:
