CyberArk Software, a vendor in privileged access management, has named Chris Macias the account executive for California State and Local Government and Education (SLED).

Macias, who has been in IT sales for almost 20 years, joined CyberArk in 2018. CyberArk has acquired SLP and CMAS status. Macias’ background includes deep knowledge in public-sector sales, and he’s described as proficient in all aspects of security consultation, government contracting, contract vehicles and government sales practices.

“I am very excited to be part of such a great, market-leading cybersecurity organization and focused on CA SLED market,” Macias told Techwire. “SLED, like the private sector, has an increasing interest in privileged access management. Privileged access management is the last line of defense and protects an organization’s 'keys to the kingdom' from both malicious insiders and bad external actors. Furthermore, CyberArk solutions can help CA State Government address the CA Military Assessment, which includes many privileged access management requirements.”

Macias, who has been a Sacramento-area resident since 2000, looks forward to security-related discussions. He can be reached at chris.macias@cyberark.com or (916) 605-9242.
