Google has released another batch of Street View tours of California State Parks, bringing the number of viewable parks to a total of 110.
State parks in this third release announced Thursday include Santa Monica State Beach, Del Norte Coast Redwoods State Park south of Crescent City, and Plumas-Eureka State Park northwest of Lake Tahoe.
California State Parks and Google began partnering in October 2014, when 14 state park destinations and trails were featured in the first set of images. Last summer 90 more state parks and beaches were added.
The sites are filmed with Google’s wearable backpack camera called Trekker; the rig films in 360 degrees.
"As a California-based company, we are so pleased to bring this beautiful imagery of our great state to Google Maps for the world to explore and enjoy," said Google’s Street View Program Manager Deanna Yick. "We hope taking this Street View virtual tour through California’s parks inspires them to visit in person one day."
