CGI Wins $281M State Contract for Case Management, Payroll

CGI has been awarded a $281 million contract with the state of California for maintenance and operation of the Case Management Information and Payrolling System, the central piece of technology supporting the In-Home Supportive Services program.

CGI has been awarded a $281 million contract with the state of California for maintenance and operation of the Case Management Information and Payrolling System (CMIPS), which is the central piece of technology supporting the In-Home Supportive Services (IHSS) program.

The case management function tracks more than 550,000 active recipients, as well as pending applicants, terminated recipients, pending providers and terminated providers. The provider management and payrolling functions support 480,000 active providers and ensure payroll payments worth more than $10 billion per year. CMIPS has about 5,000 end users across California's 58 counties, as well as the California Department of Social Services' Adult Programs Division, the Department of Health Care Services and the Office of Systems Integration (OSI).

Under the seven-year deal, CGI will provide solutions that streamline services and allow more self-service for CMIPS recipients and providers. New solutions will encompass automated payroll systems, business intelligence and reporting.

“The CMIPS technology enables service providers to be paid, and for case workers to manage home services to help ensure safety, community living and quality-of-life for service recipients," said CGI Senior Vice President Dave Delgado. "CGI is proud to support the state with this large and complex system of care and support."

CGI, which was founded in 1976, is among the largest independent IT and business consulting services firms in the world.
