CalCloud has a new interface that replaces the email-based multifactor authentication, according to a Tech Alert issued Friday by the California Department of Technology.

Users will be required to access the new portal through a soft token after Dec. 1.

In order to create a soft token, generated by SafeNet MobilePASS, users have to log in once and follow the steps listed in the Tech Alert.

"1. All CalCloud tenants will log into the CalCloud portal at http://CalCloud.ca.gov.
2. Click on the Self-Enrollment MobilePASS Icon and follow the instructions for creating a new soft token.
3. Once complete, use the new URL (www.portal.calcloud.ca.gov) and generate a token with the MobilePASS for CalCloud access."

The new portal will allow faster access to virtual machines and consoles on the cloud.

Users can request help after Dec. 1 through a Remedy Service Request.
