State government departments are recruiting for several high-impact IT positions.

The Office of Statewide Health Planning and Development (OSHPD) is seeking a database and systems administrator (IT specialist II) to “optimize and apply best practices for database tuning, server performance and cloud solutions for the benefit of the organization and the Health Payments Data System,” the job posting states. “The incumbent plays a major role in advising management or formulating information technology strategy and policy.”

The Department of Health Care Services is recruiting for a Jira administrator (IT specialist II) to serve as technical owner of Jira, a core application used in DHCS’ Medi-Cal Enterprise Systems Modernization Division (MESMD).

“The Jira administrator will be responsible for ensuring that Jira is running and performing optimally, at all times,” the job posting says. “You will be a key partner and subject matter expert working with the Project Management, Product and Engineering teams to align Jira to our systems development lifecycle and best practices for running Agile. “The IT Supervisor II works independently to plan, organize and provide administrative and technical direction to IT professionals who design, maintain, and implement the most difficult or sensitive analysis services for FTB’s Account Receivable Collection System,” the job posting says. “The incumbent has in-depth comprehensive understanding of the tools and techniques involved in systems analysis. As a supervisor, the incumbent will monitor unit workloads with input from the Analysis Leads, assuring timely delivery of analysis services. California Correctional Health Care Services is recruiting for an SQL database administrator (IT specialist I) “to perform a wide variety of tasks requiring regular innovative problem-solving In support of the Business Application Management (BAM), Technical Services, Integration Services Unit,” the job posting says.

“The incumbent is responsible for supporting enterprise application development efforts which may include planning, analysis, design, development, testing, deployment, and troubleshooting,” the posting says. “The incumbent must maintain confidentiality of information acquired while performing job duties, demonstrate ethical behavior and work cooperatively with others.”
