Agencies Seeking Application Architect, IT Specialists

The advertised positions require expertise in IT service, development and supporting enterprise systems.

Two large state agencies are recruiting for key IT positions.

The State Water Resources Control Board is seeking an Application Architect (IT Specialist III) to “provide services from IT domains including Software Engineering, System Engineering, Information Security Engineering, Information Technology Project Management, and Business Technology Management.”

“The incumbent acts as a lead Application Architect [and] provides expert-level application development functions in support of the ... agency’s enterprise web systems including the Safe and Affordable Drinking Water Program (SADW),” the job posting says. “The technologies used in the agency’s complex custom web application systems include ASP.Net, C#, MVC, JSON, XML, jQuery, AJAX, JavaScript, IIS, MSSQL, SSRS, SSIS, Oracle, ArcGIS JavaScript API, Web Services, AWS, Pega Cloud Services, Red Hat Linux (RHL), and Windows Server.”

The position has a monthly salary range of $7,732 to $10,362. The posting notes that the position is temporary through June and may be made permanent. The application deadline is March 26.

The State Water Resources Control Board is also recruiting for an IT Specialist II to “be responsible for the full life cycle of end user device solutions, including evaluation, configuration, provisioning, training, security and support for the end user computing environment.”

“The incumbent acts as the Water Board’s Office 365 (O365) Enterprise/Cloud Services/Desktop Management and Support Specialist and will be considered one of the Water Board’s experts for Enterprise O365 services integration, adaptation, troubleshooting, and routine maintenance. Will serve as an advanced technical specialist performing the most complex enterprise O365 service activities,” the job posting says.

The position has a monthly salary range of $7,014 to $9,681, and the application deadline is March 30.

The Employment Development Department is recruiting for “talented systems integrators,” including for a Business Application Support Specialist (IT Specialist II) to “work as the technical architect responsible for the implementation, maintenance and operations of the organization’s critical, statewide information technology systems and collaborate with a team of architects to maintain consistency across the enterprise,” the job posting says.

“The incumbent will lead the strategic direction, design, troubleshooting, and testing of existing and new solutions, oversee and/or participate in the installation/deployment of new applications, application upgrades, and review/refine technical documentation,” the posting says. Desirable qualifications include the ability to complete technical analysis and modern system design independently, and to learn the newest technologies in time to meet requirements from the perspective of system architect, performance, stability and hardware/software/resource support costs.

The monthly salary range for the position is $7,014 to $9,399, and the application deadline is April 12.
