Two Bay Area entities are recruiting to fill high-level information security roles.

San Francisco International Airport (SFO) is recruiting for a chief information security officer (CISO), who will be responsible for ensuring “the overall cybersecurity and safety of the airport” and supporting each of the airport’s eight divisions.

“SFO needs a forward-thinking leader who gets things done with cyber security and management experience,” the job posting says. “A CISO who engages with a multitude of stakeholders would be the perfect archetype. Airport related experience is beneficial, but not essential.” The CISO will report to the airport’s chief information officer.

The recruitment will be ongoing until the position is filled. The salary information is not disclosed.

San Mateo County is seeking a division manager of connectivity and security for the county’s Information Services Department (ISD), reporting to the Office of the Chief Information Officer. The manager will oversee five to 10 IT staff members and be responsible for IT security countywide. The division is responsible for “the proactive management, monitoring, testing, remediation and implementation of security audit and tracking tools for all applications, servers, mobile devices, PCs, and any system connected to the county network.”

Candidates should have knowledge of:

• Information systems, technology and practices as they relate to large, complex data, voice, and multimedia networks; distributed servers and multiple technologies; and multi-vendor equipment and software environments.

• Management principles and practices.

• Principles of personnel training, supervision, and evaluation.

The position has an annual salary range of $143,082 to $178,838, and the application deadline is June 3. Applicant screening is scheduled for June 8, and interviews are scheduled for the week of June 15. More information about this position is available online.
