As Legislature Ends Session, Time for a Light-Hearted Cameo

Assemblymember Evan Low used technology — and a willing conspirator — to lighten the mood at the end of the Legislature's session.

Those who follow politics know that the last few days have been fraught with tension and uncertainty in the state Legislature, as the deadline came and went for bills to be passed or to be relegated to the “maybe next time” pile.

State Assemblymember Evan Low, co-chairman of the state’s Legislative Technology and Innovation Caucus, posted a light-hearted video on LinkedIn over the weekend in which he and a familiar face in state governance inject a little humor into the session’s closing weekend.

“Hey, everyone,” Low says, “we just finished in the California state Legislature, and we just sent all of our bills to the governor’s desk, but ... I wonder which ones he’ll sign.”

Off-camera onlookers’ chuckles can be heard as Low’s co-star appears behind him in the video equivalent of a photobomb.
