Avery Freeland Joins Zscaler as SLED Regional Director for West

“Zscaler’s Public Sector team is growing very fast, and we’re thrilled to have Avery join as our new SLED Sales Leader for the West,” said Ian Milligan-Pate, Zscaler’s regional vice president of sales.

Avery Freeland, who’s worked in the technology industry since 2006, has been named regional director in the west for state, local and education (SLED) by Zscaler.

Freeland, based in Orange County, most recently was with Palo Alto Networks, where he was named accounts manager for SLED and then regional sales manager for SLED in the southwest.

“Zscaler’s Public Sector team is growing very fast, and we’re thrilled to have Avery join as our new SLED sales leader for the west,” Ian Milligan-Pate, regional vice president of sales, told Techwire. “Avery brings a wealth of experience working with state and local government in the networking and security space.”

Before joining Palo Alto, Freeland worked in IT sales management with Cisco, Dell EMC and Check Point Software Technologies. His previous experience includes having worked as a loan officer.

Freeland is a graduate of the University of Arizona’s Eller College of Management, where he earned a bachelor of science degree in finance with a minor in Spanish. He also studied for six months at Tecnologico de Monterrey in Guadalajara.
