AWS Names Tech Veteran Chao to Senior Account Exec Role

Herman Chao, a veteran of the technology industry, has joined AWS as a senior account executive for AWS’ team serving the state.

Chao has spent more than 20 years in tech, including engineering, finance, product management, strategic planning and sales positions at various IT industry giants and a few startups. His previous affiliations include Cisco, Brocade (now Broadcom), QLogic (now Marvell Technology) and 5by5 Networks.

Mark Spitzer, AWS’ senior manager for California, said: “I am super thrilled to welcome our new senior account executive for AWS’ State of California team, Herman Chao!”

Chao and his family live in Loomis. He has a degree in electrical engineering and a master’s of business administration in finance from the University of California, Davis.

Outside of work, Chao spends time working the land of their family Christmas tree farm, whitewater kayaking, cycling, golf, youth sports and appreciating IPAs.
